 Annual Meeting - Register Today to Avoid Disapointment 

As you know, the 5th VALIDATE Annual Meeting will be taking place on 7 & 8 March 2023 at BMA House, in the iconic Tavistock Square, London, UK. We have very limited spaces and since we opened registration last week, spaces have been filling up fast so register today! - www.validate-network.org/annual-meeting-2023

  • ERC Proof of Concept Grants - Funding to maximise the value of the excellent research that the ERC funds, by funding further work to verify the innovation potential of ideas arising from ERC funded projects - deadline 29 September 2022
  • AAS - African Postdoctoral Training Initiative Fellowships - Training early career scientists to respond to Africa's challenges in global health - deadline 30 September 2022
  • BBSRC Develop solutions for endemic livestock disease - Apply for funding to develop research ideas for addressing endemic diseases in livestock - deadline 6 October 2022
  • COST Open Call, 2022 - Participants are invited to submit COST Action proposals contributing to the scientific, technological, economic, cultural or societal knowledge advancement and development of Europe – open until 20 October 2022

Buffalo University profiled researcher Jonathan F. Lovell and talked about his work on TB vaccines, the Global TB Caucus reported on their H20 Summit, and Nature reported that Lab Leaders throughout the world are struggling to recruit Post Docs. A research paper suggests that gender-diverse teams produce more papers and higher impact work, Nature reported that just over a quarter of STEM posts are held by Women, and Immunologist Ane Ogbe wrote an article on the challenges of career progression faced by black female researchers. Chair of the Global TB Caucus Lord Hebert discussed his frustration about politicians assuming TB is a disease of the past, Massachusetts General Hospital has been investigating the possibility that BCG can reverse diabetes and the WHO reported on the global state of TB. Nature published advice for researchers facing online bullying, Gavi reported on the essential role of female volunteers in Lesotho’s vaccine programme and TB News Daily share the highlights of the 3rd BCG Symposium.
