Weekly round-up #55

The GCRF Vaccine Networks Vaccinology course began on Dec 3rd in Thailand and will run until Dec 7th - VALIDATE provided travel scholarships for five of our members to attend this valuable training opportunity, and we hope that they are all enjoying the course!

We are also pleased to announce that new calls for VALIDATE pump-priming grants and training grants are now open:

Pump priming grants provide up to £50,000 for up to 12 months. Projects must be scientifically excellent and within VALIDATE’s remit of accelerating vaccine R&D for TB, melioidosis, leish and/or leprosy. Projects should lead to relevant and useful data for the field or produce pilot data that will lead to a larger grant application to an external funder. Awards are open to all VALIDATE Investigators and Associates and must include collaborators from at least two different Institutes. Projects in this round may include Affiliate members who were at the VALIDATE 2nd Annual Meeting Ideas Laboratory as collaborators. Take a look at our pump-priming grant page for more info,  the application forms, and guidance documents. You can find previously funded projects here.

Training grants of up to £3,000 are available for VALIDATE Associates (post-doctoral researchers) to take advantage of training opportunities that will contribute to their professional development. This can include (but is not limited to): attendance at courses or workshops, laboratory exchanges, and work shadowing. Attendance at an international conference to present a talk or poster is also eligible for LMIC members only. More information about the training grants and the application and guidance forms can be found here.
