Introduction
Donors and development partners get their funds from taxpayers and subsequently will wish to report back how effectively the money was managed, used and the eventual results. Civil societies and NGOs are required to be at the first level of conformity in proper financial management and reporting to remain in good relationship with the funders and development partners.
Sound budget performance and project financial management is a critical prerequisite for successful project delivery, enhanced prospects of timely completion within the planned project budget and within the scope of deliverables.
This critical training will promptly provide essential information needed by those who manage, implement and supervise projects to the full satisfaction of the donor community that their donation and funds have been used efficiently and for the purposes intended; and with a deterrent to fraud and corruption, since it provides internal controls and the ability to quickly identify unusual occurrences and deviations.
The purpose of this training is for participants to acquire the competencies needed for setting-up the various components of an integrated project financial management system with corresponding modules/procedures for planning and budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, internal control, auditing, procurement and disbursements, participants will be able to position themselves as qualified, certified and credible project financial managers.

- To clearly understand the fundamental financial concepts in financial project management and their proper uses.
- Facilitate participants interpret data on financial project reports and how these reports impact each other.
- Mobilize prompt understanding to participants on how budgets and estimates are used to plan and control costs.
- Engage all participants to benefit in determining how reconciliations, forecasting and tracking project expenses is an indicator of project success.

- Understand the various stages of planning, budgeting and implementing a project
- Take up critical WBS and budgeting process as controls for budget performance
