Nomination period ends: 19 July 2019
The British Society for Immunology (BSI) has announced the opening of their 2019 Immunology Teaching Excellence Award nominations:
We want to hear about the outstanding immunology educators teaching immunology at undergraduate or postgraduate level, up to the level of teaching first year PhD students. We hope that nominees will be excellent communicators with the ability to inspire the younger generation of immunologists.
If you know of anyone who fits this description, or feel that you possess the qualities mentioned above, we'd like to hear from you.
Nominations can be made for colleagues, teachers or via self-nomination. Students or colleagues can nominate someone for the award.
Prize:
The winner will receive the award at the BSI Congress opening ceremony on 2nd December in Liverpool.
The prize will include £500 and free BSI membership for a year. Members are entitled to a large discount to attend Congress and discounts at events held by our regional and affinity groups throughout the year across the UK.
Guidelines and data protection:
If you are nominating someone other than yourself, the BSI will contact the nominee within 30 days of the nomination being received to obtain consent from them to hold their personal information. If we do not receive consent from the nominee within this 30-day period, we will be unable to hold their personal information and we will not be able to process the application further.
If you are self-nominating, by applying you give us consent to hold the personal information provided in the form below in relation to processing your nomination for the Immunology Teaching Excellence Award.

Eligibility:
- Nominees need to be BSI members at the time of nomination and awarding
- Nominees must be current immunology teachers in the higher education sector at a UK institution, teaching undergraduate, master’s or first year PhD students.
- Incomplete application will be rejected
- Late applications will not be considered
