This is a 2-year fixed term full-time training fellowship with compensation including monthly stipend to cover living expenses and support for international travel for training purposes.
BMJ has always strived to support early career researchers in low-income and lower-middle-income countries (LMICs). Established in 2019, the BMJ Global Health Grant recognises early career researchers from LMICs working in the field of global health and is awarded to the applicant whose abstract describes the most original methodological contribution to the field of global health and whose summary demonstrates the greatest importance and potential impact in advancing the field. We are pleased to announce the launch of the 2022 BMJ Global Health Grant. The successful applicant will receive funding of up to GBP 5000 to support attendance at the 7th Global Symposium on Health Systems Research (HSR 2022) in Bogota, Colombia, 31 October to 4 November 2022, and the opportunity to publish a full paper in BMJ Global Health at no cost (article processing charge waived). Find out more and apply online.PAMCA seeks to employ the ‘Train the trainers (ToT)’ model to recruit two (2) qualified and interested bioinformatics candidates to be seconded for further intensive training at a selected partner institution(s) for a period of 24 months, with a minimum of three months on-site, hands-on training within an established bioinformatics team, and the remainder of the period training regime conducted remotely. The overall goal is to ensure the bioinformatics trainers acquire the skills required to understand and process vector ‘omics data’ and achieve a level of expertise to help with building capacity in vector genomics and bioinformatics through their participation in training of additional vector genomics and bioinformatics candidates upon completion of their training fellowship. The selected candidates will also participate in a program of online training in vector genomic data analysis, and will shadow the course facilitators during the training workshops to gain handson experience of training others.
