The "Patient Immunomonitoring I – Navigating the Maze of Techniques" course is designed to equip clinical immunologists with the necessary skills to navigate the complex landscape of immunomonitoring techniques. Offered as an online distance learning course from November 12 to December 20, 2024, it provides 3 ECTS credits and is taught in English. The course targets clinical immunologists, especially those focused on infectious diseases in varied resource settings, who possess a Master’s degree in biomedical or clinical sciences and a strong foundation in human immunology. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of diverse immunomonitoring methods, learn to identify predictive biomarkers, assess immune responses, and select appropriate techniques for specific research questions. Delivered through expert-led seminars, interactive forums, and practical assignments, the course emphasizes designing robust immunomonitoring studies. Participants will learn to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of different methodologies, such as ELISPOT versus flow cytometry and venous blood versus finger prick, while developing lab analytical plans to meet research objectives.
