Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health, University of Oxford are seeking an ambitious, highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist in T Cell immunology of Vaccines to join the Tropical Medicine and Global Health Institute within Nuffield Department of Medicine (NDM).
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, Susanna Dunachie, you are responsible for developing and supporting research on the T cell response to vaccination against diseases including COVID-19 and melioidosis. You will be a member of the Tropical immunology research group providing day-to-day supervision for DPhil students, research assistants and other students. A key focus of the group is development of scalable T cell assays for measuring vaccine immunogenicity in low and middle income settings, and it is anticipated that the rapidly developing research for SARS-CoV-2 will bring translatable outputs for vaccine research for melioidosis and other neglected tropical diseases.
It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in the field of T cell immunology and infectious diseases, with solid experience in cellular immunology including intracellular staining/flow cytometry, T-cell subset analysis, cell culture and ELISpot assays. You will be highly organised with good attention to detail. Strong skills in data analysis including use of relevant software tools will be required. An outstanding ability to work co-operatively within a busy team and with other international research groups will be essential.
