The opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist is available within the Infectious Diseases Data Observatory (IDDO) team at our Old Road Campus in Headington.
The role will be varied across IDDO themes and in addition to scientific and statistical support include project management, stakeholder engagement and administrative activities.
The scientist will take a proactive role in encouraging and securing engagement from a range of stakeholders across the emerging infections and neglected poverty related disease communities, both nationally and internationally. S/he will work with these collaborators to design, undertake, write up and publish analyses undertaken using pooled data contributed to the IDDO data sharing platform. A PhD graduate with proven research experience in infectious diseases and excellent written and oral skills is required for contribution to writing manuscripts for publication and presentations at conferences and other relevant meetings or workshops. This will include travel to varied countries. Strong communication and interpersonal skills is required to build strong, trusting relationships and bring ownership and oversight to the programmatic work, which requires the engagement of internal and external partners.
