We look forward to welcoming around 1500 participants to the Public Health England Annual Conference 2019,representing the wide range of organisations working together to improve the health of the public. Over two days there will be the opportunity to learn, share experience and network.
The five track conference programme is focusing on some of the areas where we can collectively make the greatest improvements in health and reduce health inequalities. Information about the sessions (including some organised by Faculty of Public Health) and details of many of the presentations are now available via the Programme page. Sessions focus on new evidence and innovations in practice and are designed to include plenty of time for discussion to benefit from the wealth of experience of participants.
Speakers include renowned experts and those with practical experience in putting evidence into action at local level and you can find information about many of the speakers in the session details from the Programme page. We are delighted to have the participation of Rt Hon Matt Hancock MP, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care who will give a keynote address on the second day of the conference. Other plenary speakers are Professor Chris Whitty, Chief Scientific Adviser, Jacqueline de Rojas, President of techUK, who will discuss the application of technology to improve public health,Carina Crawford-Khan of Citizens UK who will talk about the opportunities for community organising to tackle health inequalities, and Duncan Clark, CEO of Kiln on data visualisation.
