Seattle Children’s are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative postdoctoral fellow to join our Translational Immunology Group. The successful candidate will play a key role in characterizing functionality of immune cells in the context of tuberculosis, nontuberculous mycobacteria and positive strand RNA viruses e.g., SARS-CoV-2. Previous experience in human immunology and cellular immunoassays, including multiparametric flow cytometry, is required. Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assessment of immunological endpoints in vaccine clinical trials including assay development and validation.
Contribute to writing clinical study reports, statistical analysis plans and grant applications.
Perform specimen processing and shipping for domestic and international sites.
Work closely under supervision to implement research projects that further the understanding and development of effective vaccines.
Committed participation as a team member to support experimental design, immunoassay development and methodology following scientific literature review, quality standards and discussion with peers, as required.
Responsible for following Standard Operating Procedures and development/optimization/ qualification/validation reports for immunoassays.
Responsible for performing assay development, optimizations, and validations as a primary lead and/or in collaboration with others.
Participate in laboratory audits to ensure GCLP-like compliance and assist with clinical training activities.
Records procedures, outcomes and observations in lab notebook following established guidelines.
Utilize established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and critically analyze and interpret data.
Communicate with research management on a regular basis.
Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals.
Presents research at group and internal/external scientific meetings.
Contributes to the maintenance of the sample repository including sample tracking procedures.
Requirements
Required Education/Experience:
-Doctorate degree (PhD/DVM/MD) in speciality area from an accredited university training program
