In this webinar we will hear from Goodman Makanda from TB Proof as he discusses his experience as a DR-TB survivor and TB activist. TB proof is an advocacy group aiming to eliminate TB by combining stories and science by involving affected communities. It was started in 2012 by health workers who developed occupational TB and students passionate about TB prevention. TB proof's initial focus was on preventing the spread of TB in healthcare facilities through advocacy and education. Since then, they have expanded their advocacy efforts to include access to high quality TB treatment, addressing stigma and improving support to people affected by TB.
Together Goodman and Jess will explore what it means to be an advocate and what advocacy can contribute to the TB research agenda.
Following Goodman's story, we look forward to opening up the webinar for further discussion with people from TB affected communities, researchers and healthcare workers to think about how we can work in partnership to end TB.
