The Institute of Infection and Global Health was established in 2010 to bring together leading infection and global health researchers from across the University. It integrates veterinary, medical and basic sciences to address major infectious diseases of humans and animals in the UK and globally and has built a track record of research excellence, embracing the “One Health” concept of disease control.
We are seeking an outstanding infection immunologist, who would be appointed as either Tenure Track Fellow or Lecturer, depending upon career stage. Applications are invited from individuals with high quality outputs who wish to develop their careers to the next level within our excellent research and teaching environment, or who are established and possesses an excellent track record with potential to develop a world class research programme in infection immunology. Your research area should complement the Institute's existing research programmes. We would welcome applications from scientists working in any relevant area of infection immunology, either basic, veterinary or medical immunology within the infection field.
You should have a PhD in a relevant research area and an outstanding CV with evidence of success in attracting external funding and high-quality publications. Tenure Track Fellows join a defined career development programme that includes provision of high-quality mentoring and support to develop externally funded fellowship applications; you will be expected to deliver a modest amount of high-quality teaching, obtain a teaching qualification and contribute towards supervision of PhD students. For the Lectureship you would be expected to attract significant research funding, deliver high quality teaching and successfully supervise PhD students.
