The Department of Biology at the University of York wishes to appoint up to two outstanding Lecturers in areas of biomedical science. They welcome applications from those in established positions, as well as research fellows and senior postdoctoral researchers who have established independent research profiles.
Research interests of the successful applicant/s will complement existing strengths in the Department of Biology, and might include molecular and/or cellular aspects of cancer, immunology, microbial pathogenesis, development or ageing and epigenetics. They are particularly interested in candidates using molecular and/or systems approaches or pre-clinical models of disease/pathology.
You will develop creative and sustainable independent research programmes, supported by external funding resulting in internationally-leading outputs. You will be expected to carry out individual and collaborative research, actively participate in research supervision, management and administration contributing to successful research outputs. You will also contribute to undergraduate teaching courses by designing, developing, managing and delivering teaching in Biology, Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences.
