The Vaccine Confidence Project (VCP) is pleased to announce the launch of a series of public webinars. As rumours and misinformation around vaccination and vaccine trials have become increasingly challenging, listening to communities and online conversations to detect and mitigate rumours with a risk of disrupting vaccine trials is key. This is particularly important in the context of COVID-19, when heightened anxieties and uncertainties are facilitating the spread and amplification of rumours. This 2h webinar will provide an overview of the VCP framework for detecting and mitigating rumours around vaccine trials, with guidance on using community management of rumours (using the example of the Ebola vaccine trials) and social media monitoring to listen to public sentiments, beliefs and concerns around vaccination. The webinar will be highly interactive, giving participants the opportunity to learn from each other, and will make use of case studies developed based on social listening conducted over the last year. Participants are also invited to take part in a complimentary webinar taking place on the 22nd of July which will address vaccination rumour monitoring and management in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic more broadly (more information about this webinar will be made available on the VCP website: www.vaccineconfidence.org).
