Biography: I started working for tuberculosis research in 2017, focusing on latent tuberculosis prevention programmes. I joined Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in 2018 to begin working on a project to identify risk factors for poor treatment outcomes of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis patients. I moved to the UK in 2020 to start my master’s degree in public health under the Chevening Scholarship funded by FCDO. In 2022, I started working on an epidemiologic study to assess the interferon gamma release assay (IGRA) positivity, and to build capacity to conduct a tuberculosis vaccine efficacy study, funded by The Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute. With the supervision of Professor Tim Walker, I have been contracted by WHO to conduct a systematic review of diagnostic accuracy of targeted next-generation sequencing technologies for detection of drug resistance among people diagnosed with TB.
