The Academy of Medical Sciences Springboard offers up to £125,000 in funding over two years, alongside tailored career support, to assist newly independent biomedical scientists in launching their research careers. Initiated in 2015 through a partnership with the Wellcome Trust, and later joined by the British Heart Foundation, the Government Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and Diabetes UK, this scheme targets early-career researchers, particularly Lecturers within their first three years of independence, to address the challenges of establishing independent research programs in the biomedical field.
