TB, host-directed therapeutics, lentivirus, immuno-therapy
My research focuses on Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of Tuberculosis (TB). TB is the leading cause of death from a single infectious agent. Increasing incidences of drug-resistant (DR)-TB highlight a growing requirement to better understand TB pathogenesis and develop novel TB therapeutics. Therefore, my PhD project focuses on characterising the efficacy of using engineered macrophages as immunotherapy for TB.
