Biography:

Main topics of scientific interest: Tuberculosis, Vaccines, Immunodiagnostic, Host-pathogen interaction, Immunological biomarkers, Infectious diseases, Neglected Diseases, Host-directed therapy. I am graduated in Pharmacy by Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and PhD in Sciences (2019) by the University of São Paulo (USP) PhD Program on Biotechnology, which is a joint program with Butantan Institute (São Paulo, Brazil).

I developed a year of internship during my PhD at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), The Netherlands (2017-2018). Since 2019, I have been an adjunct professor/researcher in the area of Immunology at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) (Salvador, Bahia, Brazil). I also coordinate an infectious diseases diagnostic laboratory, which offers laboratory tests through the Unified National Health System (in Portuguese: Sistema Único de Saúde - SUS). I have been developing projects related to the prevalence of infections of public health importance, and collaborate with projects on this topic. So far, I was awarded peer-reviewed grants as PI and as collaborator. I have been working on a line of research in the context of developing TB vaccines at UFBA. I believe that through science we can provide answers to important questions for society and, if developed in a network, these answers have a greater impact.
