Biography:

My research work is focused on studying the redox and metabolic status of Leishmania parasites, the causative agent of Leishmaniasis, a neglected tropical disease, with 8% of global burden being contributed by India. My work has led to the identification of promising antileishmanial compounds that mediate their leishmanicidal activity by impacting on mitochondrial and/or glycolytic bioenergetics of Leishmania parasites that can potentially serve as a vital resource to underpin future mechanistic studies for developing new chemotherapeutic molecules.
