Adenovirus vectors, innate immune response, integrins Biography Dragomira Majhen holds a PhD in molecular biology and biochemistry and is currently employed as a senior research associate at Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb. Her scientific interest is directed towards researching the basic mechanism of infection with adenovirus vectors aimed at gene transfer and vaccination as well as understanding the link between adenovirus intracellular trafficking and induction of innate immune response. During her post-doctoral specialization, she stayed in Vaccine Generation, Viral Vaccine Research and Early Development, Crucell Holland BV, The Netherlands, as a fellow within ADenoViruses as novel clinical treatments, FP7-PEOPLE-2011-ITN-Marie-Curie Action. So far she was a principal investigator of several projects, including proof of concept project funded by Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovations and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO) (final output is VirusHunter innovation), and mentor of one post-doc and two doctoral students. She is also actively involved in teaching and science popularization. As a Marie Curie Alumni Association Croatian Chapter Chair she is organizing a number of activities regarding science communication and career development.
