Biography:
Fariborz Bahrami completed his Ph.D. in Microbiology at McGill University, Quebec, Canada in 2005, following undergraduate studies at the same university. After completing three consecutive Post-Doc training at Institut Pasteur (Paris, France), Laval University (Quebec, Canada), and Pasteur Institute of Iran (IPI; Tehran, Iran), he became a faculty member of IPI in 2014. He is presently a lecturer and researcher in the Immunology Department of IPI, concentrating on the characterization of mechanisms of pathogenesis and immunosuppression by intracellular microorganisms such as Leishmania spp., Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and Bordetella pertussis and the development of immune-based therapies against these pathogens. He is an Associate Editor and editorial board member of Vaccine Research, an IPI quarterly scientific journal as well as the Review Editor of Parasite Immunology - Frontiers in Immunology.
