Biography:

After getting my PhD in Biology, in which I worked on inducing genetic mutations in cultivated legumes to improve their resistance to a parasite. This involved conducting a biochemical and molecular analysis of the observed resistance. I decided to complement my academic path with Bioinformatics skills which led me to undertake a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics. My research interest lies in the fields of bioinformatics, biological networks, and python programming. Working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institut Pasteur de Tunis, Tunisia, my research is focused on genomic and transcriptomic analyses of Leishmania parasites.

My work aims to explore data from high-throughput sequencing. Having experience in algorithm design and programming, I am interested in improving these skills in developing computational methods and applications to analyse large scale multi-omics data for better understanding the underlying molecular mechanisms behind Leishmania regulation.
