Dr. Isadora received her undergraduate degree from Federal University of Bahia, Brazil, as a veterinarian, in 2011, and her master’s and Doctoral degree from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, in 2017. She investigated the influence of splenic white pulp disorganization in the severity of the disease, and the histological changes in the liver, especially the granulomatous response in the liver of dogs with canine visceral leishmaniasis.

Her primary research interests are the pathology of visceral leishmaniasis, focusing in the granulomatous response, and its effects in the outcome of the disease. She is also interested in finding tools to modulate the inflammatory response, aiming to find a way to help the organism to overcome the parasite infection.
