Biography:
I am a postdoctoral research fellow working in the University of Surrey and my research is focused on host-pathogen metabolic interactions and identification of metabolic drug targets in the two major mycobacterial pathogens- Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium leprae. I graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India in 2013 with engineering degree in Biotechnology. I secured DPhil (PhD) from the University of Oxford in 2018, where my research was directed at understanding carbon metabolism in nitrogen-fixing bacterium using systems biology techniques. I joined University of Surrey in 2016 and in my current research I use metabolomics and mass spectrometry (LC-MS and GC-MS), stable isotope labelling and mass isotopomer analysis and metabolic flux analysis for metabolic profiling of carbon and nitrogen metabolism in intracellular Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium leprae.
