Biography:

I finished my medical degree (MBBS) and has done his PhD in “Medicine - Immunology (MAPKinase activation in Tuberculosis). My research interests include Clinical Trials and Immunology of tuberculosis/HIV infection. I have about 11 years of research experience (8 yrs post-PhD) and has earlier (in colloboration with NJIL & OMD) worked on “Cellular markers in monitoring of TB treatment and predicting clinical outcome (in susceptible TB)” and has published research papers which involved clinico-immunological correlation (as co-author) pertaining to this topic.  In the field of HIV, I have worked in a study which assessed the influence of systeminc Inflammation and the increased risk of Inflamm-Aging and Age-Associated  Diseases in People Living With HIV on Long Term Suppressive Antiretroviral Therapy. Identified and published (co-author) novel blood based biomarkers for the first time linking HIV and accelerated inflamma-Aging.

I have also worked as Coinvestigator/Clinician Scientist in few randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs) related to pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB). Now the proposed research topic focuses on Currently exploring cellular markers for monitoring treatment, disease severity and clinical outcome in drug resistant TB patients. Also writing proposal to address the immunological aspects of acute HIV infection in relation to potential vaccine candidates.
