Biography:
I am a Specialty Registrar doctor in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology working at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and am also an Academic Clinical Fellow working with Professor Susanna Dunachie’s research group at the University of Oxford. I obtained an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Bristol in 2009, and then completed graduate-entry medicine in 2014 at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. I am currently working with Prof Susanna Dunachie at the Tropical Immunology Group at the Peter Medawar Building, Oxford, and am interested in vaccine development for Gram-negative bacteria, both for the neglected tropical pathogen Burkholderia pseudomallei, which causes melioidosis, as well as two other Gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae. I hope to go on and apply for a PhD to study this area further.
