Weekly round-up #241

VALIDATE Workshop - VALIDATE Workshop - NIH101: A Guide to Applying for National Institutes of Health Funding
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the United States’ primary medical research agency supporting scientific studies that turn discovery into health. The NIH is the largest public funder of biomedical research in the world, currently investing nearly $45 billion in fiscal year 2022 to enhance life, and reduce illness and disability. In NIH101, Dr Katrin Eichelberg will provide advice on finding NIH funding opportunities and share some tips on putting together an NIH grant application.
The event is for VALIDATE members only and you can register online - www.validate-network.org/event/nih101

Congratulations VALIDATE Fellow Associate Professor Rachel Tanner
VALIDATE was very happy to hear that one of our first VALIDATE fellows, Rachel Taner, will taking up an exciting new role. Rachel was awarded a VALIDATE Fellowship in 2018 and has recently been appointed an Associate Professor at the University of Oxford's Department of Biology. Rachel will be leading a research team taking a 'One Health' approach to tackling TB and bovine TB.
Rachel says:
"VALIDATE has been instrumental in supporting my transition to independence. A VALIDATE Fellowship allowed me to pursue my own line of research and establish key collaborations, as well as build the track record required to progress. I also benefited from the excellent mentorship and advice of senior VALIDATE members. I'm looking forward to continuing to be an active member of this thriving interdisciplinary community in the next stage of my career."
