Funding:

• ​RSTMH have extended their small grant deadline to 9th April 2018
• MRC: Career Development Award (CDA): supports talented post-docs to establish their own team - 25 Apr 2018 (also 20 Sept 18 & 20 Apr 2019)
• AMS: Springboard - for early career researchers in their first independent research position who have not yet obtained substantial research funding - 1 May 2018
• AESA: Science & Language Mobility Scheme Africa - offers travel grants for short-term visits to researchers in Franco and Anglophone Africa in either direction (directed at specific institutes) - 25 May 2018
• UKRI: Future Leaders Fellowships - for UK and international early career researchers - 7 Jun 2018
• AESA: Africa-India Mobility Fund - to fund short-term visits of up to 3 months for African or Indian researchers to travel in either direction - ongoing

Training opportunities:

• French workshop on EDCTP grant proposal writing - Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire - 30 May - 1 June 2018 (registration by 22 Apr 2018)
• The European Commission are looking for Independent Experts for their review panels (ongoing)

Events:

• Seminar: "Exploring science denialism in HIV/AIDS, vaccines and climate change" - LSHTM, UK - 12 Apr 2018
