VALIDATE Workshop - Mentorship Mastery Shaping Futures, Inspiring Success

In this VALIDATE online seminar, Dr. Ruth Gotian (Weill Cornell Medicine, USA) discussed the benefits of mentoring for one's career and shared insights on becoming both an inspiring mentor and a productive mentee.

Attendees joined a mentorship journey where success wasn’t just a goal; it was presented as a guaranteed outcome. It was emphasized that those with mentors not only outperformed but also outearned others, highlighting the importance of mentorship in career advancement. Dr. Gotian unveiled insights from her latest book, Financial Times Guide to Mentoring, and referenced her influential articles in ForbesNatureHarvard Business Review, and Fast Company. She provided guidance on how to become the mentor everyone dreams of, fostering success and propelling mentees to new heights. The session also covered creating a dynamic mentoring team, mastering networking strategies, amplifying voices on the mentor-sponsor continuum, and unlocking effective approaches for engaging with mentors and mentees.

In this workshop, Dr. Gotian and attendees explored the vital skill of identifying toxic mentors (tormentors) and emphasized the value of being both a mentor and a mentee, regardless of rank, as essential for a thriving career. The event redefined mentorship for all participants.
