Weekly round-up #26

Weekly round-up #26

This week we've been excited to join the European Melioidosis Congress 2018 in Oxford, UK. It was great to see many of our members there, to hear some fantastic talks - and to get the opportunity for our Network Manager, Sam Vermaak, to give a quick introduction presentation to spread the word about VALIDATE and all the benefits of membership to those researching TB, leishmaniasis, leprosy and, of course, melioidosis.

Our other exciting news is that our VALIDATE Data Analyst, Dr Deniz Cizmeci, started in her new role on Monday. Deniz’s role will be crucial to the success of VALIDATE, ensuring that VALIDATE maximises outputs and lessons learned from the immunology and vaccine-related data available across the Network. She will be setting up the Investigator data sharing portal, as well as gathering data sets from our members for cross-pathogen, cross-species and/or cross-country analyses and modelling that will advance vaccine R&D for our focus pathogens. So it's fantastic that she's joined our team based at University of Oxford. Do get in touch with her with any analysis ideas!
