The VALIDATE Fellowships for 2018-2020 have now been awarded, so huge congratulations to our two new Fellows Dr Jomien Mouton (Stellenbosch University, South Africa) and Dr Rachel Tanner (University of Oxford, UK). As Fellows, Jomien and Rachel will also join our Network Management Board, giving us valuable input from the Early Career Researcher perspective.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Professor Martin Vordermeier for his invaluable contribution to VALIDATE as a member of our NMB over the past year. Martin will be stepping down from the NMB this month and will be replaced by Dr Bernardo Villarreal-Ramos to whom we extend a warm welcome!
Finally, we're excited to say that the VALIDATE Management Team has a new addition - Ellie Mottram has joined us as our new VALIDATE Network Assistant. In addition, the call for our Training Grants is still open (closing 29 October) - VALIDATE training grants offer up to £3000 to help VALIDATE Associates take advantage of training opportunities that will contribute to their professional development. This can include (but is not limited to) attendance at courses or workshops, laboratory exchange, work shadowing, and attendance at an international conference to present a talk.
